10'6 x 23" x 3 1/8"

Bank it Over

Finished shaping a 10'6 for myself. This is only the 2nd board I've made over 10 feet.
The challenge of managing the amount of foam and creating a functional well foiled board
at this size is really fun and educational. Intent to maximize a variety of conditions and waves.
I haven't had a big board in my quiver in a few years because of how expensive they are, but
I finally got it done. Obvious Frye & Simmons influence in the outline and bottom concave.

My friend and one of my favorite shaper/surfers Jake Allen has been making his own
variations of big boards for a long time that really inspired the tail shape on this one for me.
The round thumbtal allows a bit more circular radius turns and rail carving that I think help
wrap the turn better then just the swallow tail pins. It also maintains a wider plaining surface
out the tail staying true to Simmons hydrodynamics. I will be running Grennan style
boomerang fins in these Gearboxes. The Gearbox by Robin Mair allows 3/8" adjustment in
boxes, which for me is ideal for tuning in fin placement on my personal boards. If you'd like
you order a board with these boxes I have plenty available.
